How we filmed videos about sausage
Product advertising is hard work. More precisely, technically there is nothing special about it - but how to achieve a wow effect so that the viewer literally salivates?

The task
We had to make three commercials in a single creative concept. The length of each video is from 10 to 15 seconds, the goal is to promote the plant's products on TV and digital.

The timing and budget were limited, so we could not change locations. It was assumed that the plot would be the same for all commercials.

Pre-production
Work on the project began with the preparation of references, because you need to immediately understand the client's expectations and offer your concept. We have selected video examples of close-ups of dishes, the process of their preparation and styling. We showed the references to the customer and discussed them at the meeting.

At the briefing, they decided on the theme of the commercials (boiled and boiled-smoked sausages, sausages) and the style of serving products. We placed accents, clarified the structure of each video. It was necessary to emphasize that all products are made from our own environmentally friendly raw materials (beef and pork).

Then we started preparing the timing and treatment. At that time, the client sent a brand book and selected fonts.

Director's script
The approximate structure of the videos according to the treatment was as follows: 2 seconds for showing the ingredients, 4 seconds for appetizing cooking / cutting, 4 seconds for a beautiful presentation of the product, a pack shot and a slogan. The editing structure, sound design and access to the final frame are the same for all videos.

We prepared several versions of the text and slogans, described and visualized all parts of each video. Something like this: “A fork is approaching a delicious grilled sausage.”

We decided on the dubbing: an off-screen voice with a reference to the archetype of the father - age-related, calm and soft. Rich warm colors were chosen for visualization, positive rhythmic music with a predominance of a guitar for sound accompaniment.
Studio selection
We needed a spacious studio-kitchen with a suitable interior, where you can comfortably place the shooting equipment, and where it would be convenient for the team to work. We quickly found a suitable option with a beautiful wooden countertop and stylish dark dishes. The natural color of the wood emphasizes the appetizing effect of sausages and frankfurters, so cutting was done on wooden boards.
The nuances of filming
The client was not present on the set. He was promptly sent a video from the site, the details were immediately coordinated via WhatsApp

During the filming, we changed compositions and angles, worked out other wishes of the customer.

No one was hurt during the shooting of the videos, except for 10 units of each type of product. The props for filming were provided by the customer - and we diligently made salad, beautifully cut the sausage, fried the sausages. What happened to them after filming ... history is silent, but you can tell us "Bon appetit!"

By the way, do not believe the common misconception that the videos show only dummies. At least, real sausages were filmed in our videos.
